Embarking Upon a Spiritual Path

As I begin to plan a retreat this coming Fall - taking place November 4th - 6th at Wellspring Spa at Mt. Rainier - I have revisited my founding principles to serve as guideposts for me in putting together this experience for people.  In designing this retreat, I have been noticing more individual clients seeking in some way to incorporate spirituality into their lives, but expressing ambiguity around where to get started or what resources to seek out.  This has motivated me to organize a retreat around embarking upon’s one’s spiritual path.  I feel this topic creates a wholeness for a person around their spiritual journey and will offer different avenues and tools to explore.

The topic for the retreat aligns with my companies founding principle of guiding people to wake up to their role in life.  I find so often we are living our lives according to our family programming, societal expectations, or how we think our friends or community believe we should be experiencing life.  We also live based on fears, problems, living up to ideals, best practices, etc… that take us away from really unfolding into ourselves.  How awesome does it sound for example for jobs to be designed based on the gifts and essence of individuals rather than stuff ourselves into roles?  I believe we are shifting in this direction with different waves of spirits waking up to their potential and vibrancy which they are radiating into the world.  Really in fact, from a multi-dimenensional perspective time doesn’t exist, but rather one’s expansion and the expansion of the greater system and our precious Earth provides the measuring stick and reason for life.

Getting back on topic, when I was at clairvoyant school my teachers cultivated the space for us to learn from a perspective of kindergarten so we could revisit some of the beliefs or programming that we held deeply rooted and reset them to what we felt aligned with our current selves.  This is not a process that a person goes through once, but rather is a continuos journey.  I believe we all carry these treasures inside of us with a spirit that is waiting diligently for us to unlock that treasure box and enliven to the full expression of ourselves in different and unique ways.  It is individuality through diversity in regards to coming from diverse backgrounds, with varying life experiences and having an opportunity like no other in our history to unleash our creativity, ingenuity and consciousness to contribute to the systems we are part of in order to significantly alter and nourish our world.  This is not only an individual path, but includes businesses, community groups, movements - people young, old, adolescent, black, white, hispanic, and across all industries, etc… Businesses themselves serve multiple communities and really provide a rich opportunity to lead these efforts.

There are multiple means in which to dive into or explore one’s soul, which stands as core to a spiritual path.  According to Bill Plotkin, a soul is defined as the “the vital, mysterious, and wild core of our individual selves, an essence unique to each person, qualities found in layers of the self much deeper than our personalities.”  You might begin to ask yourself questions such as:

  • what activities you pursue in your daily life to seek out this wild terrain?

  • what conditions do you seek in order to lay the groundwork for this exploration?

  • how do you manage yourself throughout the day to adhere to this journey?

  • how do you stay motivated to continue upon the journey?

Please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts on this path for yourself or what reading through this post brings up for you.  I look forward to sharing with you more the plan as it unfolds for this upcoming retreat in the Fall!
